Substance Use Prevention

UniqueYOU

UniqueYOU is an evidence-based prevention education program for 3rd and 4th graders designed to help young people feel confident and proud of who they are. By strengthening the behavioral and psychological skills that build protective factors, the program helps prevent substance use disorders and supports healthy, positive development.

UniqueYOU allows you to teach your students:

At the elementary school level, uniqueYOU builds core skills to expand students’ sense of self-efficacy and confidence. Lessons are designed to match the intellectual, cognitive, and social development of each student. Through interactive games and activities, students can see and practice the strategies and skills in real time, helping them apply what they learn in their daily lives right away.

Scripted Lesson Design – Eight engaging, fully scripted lessons designed specifically for 3rd and 4th graders, making implementation simple, structured, and easy to deliver.

Interactive Activities – Hands-on games, discussions, and skill-building exercises that reinforce key prevention concepts through active participation.

Comprehensive Lesson Plans – Clearly stated objectives, rationale, and step-by-step instructions with suggested timing to support effective delivery.​

Extended Learning Opportunities – Optional enrichment activities and cross-curricular connections to deepen understanding and reinforce core skills.

Evaluation & Assessment Tools – Materials to measure student knowledge, attitudes, and skill development, along with tools to support implementation fidelity.

Facilitator Training – A structured training component that prepares educators and prevention specialists to deliver the program with confidence and fidelity.

Logic Model & Theory of Change – A clearly defined framework outlining how UniqueYOU strengthens protective factors and supports long-term prevention outcomes.

School & Community Integration Strategies – Practical approaches to strengthen connections between students, families, and schools to reinforce healthy development.
