Familia Adelante
A Program for Enhancing Youth and Family Life Skills
SOUTHEAST REGIONAL HUB
Center for Prevention Services is home to the Familia Adelante Southeast Regional Hub, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and coordinated by our Greater Piedmont Community Resilience (GPCR) division. The Hub provides training and support services across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and Georgia.

Since 1971, CPS has supported youth and families through training, technical assistance, prevention, and early intervention services. With six years of experience implementing Familia Adelante and a network of 50 trained facilitators, we continue to expand access to culturally tailored prevention education.

What is Familia Adelante?
Familia Adelante is a culturally sensitive program for Latino youth ages 10 to 14 and their families. It strengthens life skills, reduces substance use, and addresses risky behaviors through 8 to 12 weekly sessions. Participants learn to foster communication, develop resilience, and establish healthier family dynamics.
