Internships and Practicums
At Center for Prevention Services, we offer meaningful internship and practicum opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students each semester. Our program is designed to provide hands-on experience, professional development, and the opportunity to make a real impact in the community.
What You Can Expect
Interns work alongside our team across multiple focus areas, gaining exposure to real-world public health and nonprofit work. Opportunities may include:

Prevention
With our Greater Piedmont Community Resilience team, you’ll have the opportunity to support substance use prevention education, assist with community outreach and awareness campaigns, and help represent prevention efforts at the local level.

Harm Reduction
With our Queen City Harm Reduction team, you’ll have the opportunity to support harm reduction services, assist with outreach efforts, and help connect community members to care and resources

Development
Contribute to fundraising efforts, branding initiatives, and social media content creation.

Adminstration
Gain experience in nonprofit operations, including program coordination and grant writing.
Flexible, Hands-On Experience
These are just examples—many interns have the opportunity to shape their own experience. Depending on the semester’s events, campaigns, and community needs, students can take on projects that align with their interests and career goals.
